We read in Daniel 9, that whilst reading the book of Jeremiah, Daniel comes to an understanding that the prophecy/promise of God that Jeremiah spoke concerning God's people being in desolation for 70 years (Jeremiah 25:11) was almost up. Daniel in response begins to pray, confessing his sins and the sins of his people, pleading for God's mercy, highlighting that God is a covenant keeping, faithful and righteous God. Daniel is praying, reminding God of His promise, pleading for him to listen, pleading for Him to act for the sake of His Glory (9:18) and His people.
As a church we have been convicted to pray more, both individually and corporately. We have have been convicted to humbly remind God of His promises, to wrestle with him in prayer, to confess sin and bring petition and to believe that He will answer and he will move His hand for the sake of His own Glory. We are seeking to encourage people to get involved in Gospel communities to pray together, to meet in smaller groups through out the week, and for this this week (24th-28th May) we are meeting each morning at Ramilies Road Church between 6:30-7:30am, to engage with our Father God in Prayer. Please feel free to join us as we seek the face of our Father, for the sake of His Glory, the Gospel and the lost.
