What an amazing two years!

how_great_thou_art

I can't believe that it has been two years (today) since we replanted Ramilies Road Church. As I look back over the past two years I am blown away by how we have seen and experienced God's Grace and favour. Obviously our greatest encouragements have been seeing people come to Christ and people growing to be more Gospel Centred and marked by Grace and being more missional both individually and as a community (and I could write all day sharing stories of what God is doing). However one of our prayers as a church from day one was to see men trained and churches planted all around Liverpool and the region. In one sense when there was only 30 of us, with no money and we were just about to embark on the big task of replanting a church with people from different cultures, traditions and ideas, the thought of training men to lead church plants was a bit of a 'pipe dream'. But, this has been at the forefront of our prayer and vision, and over the past two years we have seen a number of men come to Christ and loads of young men come to RRC with hearts to grow and a desire to be invested in and trained for Gospel ministry and church planting, which we are doing in partnership with http://www.acts29network.org/w-europe/ (church planting), http://www.porterbrooknetwork.org (training) and http://www.northwestpartnership.com/ministrytrainingscheme.php (training).

One of those guys Vlad Oara preached for the first time at Ramilies Road yesterday.  Vlad is a Romanian who was the first person to come to Christ 3 months after we replanted.  In all honesty I was expecting the first person to be saved to be a Scouse lad or girl, with a dodgy Scouse accent, not a young Romanian guy with a dodgy "Scouse accent!".  Seeing someone come to Christ is an amazing thing, but seeing them grow in the knowledge and Grace of God and then seeing and hearing them preach the word of God is one of the greatest joys you can have as a church leader. I have stacks of stories that evidence God's Grace in the lives of men, women, boys and girls and each one thrills my heart to praise Him without whom the last two years would not of happened. All Praise and Glory to Jesus!
